I did not know their were such things other than plantains....so nope. My supermarket does sell fresh plantains but I have bought any of yet.

If your partner says 'your the girl in this relationship' what is the best way to respond?

Ask her what she means and how she defines 'girl'. It might be like saying that compassion is a feminine trait, when it is actually a human trait.

Why not remind her who always wears the trousers (this is in case she sometimes wears some)?

Good idea.

Which historical figure, who is deceased, inspires you in a great way?

I don't think that any historical person has inspired me in a great way. But some of the sayings of Marcus Aurelius, in his Meditations, find echos in my own beliefs. And some don't.

Do you wear socks of the same colour as your shoes?

Yes. Black as night, black as pitch, blacker then the foulest witch.

Which Wizard of Oz Character is most like you and why?

I haven't seen the film. But I know I'm not like the lion, nor the scarecrow, nor the tin man. Because I'm brave, brainy and I have a great heart. I'm too good to be the wicked witch. I'm certainly not like Dorothy - no friend of hers. So that leaves the dog. What was he like? If he was good then I might be like him.

What's the best thing about your life just now?

I had to look it up..and read some of the excerpts. It is wise indeed..it does resonate with me. Thanks for that.

In my life now..I have a new start..new city, new job, new home..so I can leave the bad from my old life, and concentrate on the good. Well at least I can try.

Do you ever eat so much or badly, that you feel ill afterwards?

My pleasure. Actually, he was an ancestor of mine. Hence my wisdom.

I don't remember doing so but I sometimes drink so much tea that I feel very full and I can feel and hear it sloshing about when I move.

Which is most important to have at a party - balloons, jelly or paper hats?

I think it is balloons.

Would you perform at a Royal Gala, as a drag queen (or king!)?

No. There is no royalty in this country except me.

What did you enjoy on telly or the radio when you were a child?

More than 10 years ago. I don't go to cafes or restaurants very often. The other diners complain about my table manners.

Which is the best operatic duet - the one from the Pearl Fishers or the Flower Duet from Lakme?

Incidently, if anyone wishes to hear the best versions of either, go to you tube and search for Jussi Björling & Robert Merrill / Pearl Fishers Duet, and
Dessay and Maurus perform "The Flower Duet" from Lakme. The first minute of the Lakme one is boring but becomes heavenly after that.

I would imagine, like all music, that it depends of the mood of the listener. If you are asking which is more musically brilliant - I would defer such judgement to someone more qualified than me.

Do you think Dyson (of vacuum cleaners) is a genius or a prat?

His vacuum cleaner was a good idea but I wouldn't call him a genius. I don't know if he's a prat but he did accept a daft title that means nothing.

Boat race - Oxford or Cambridge?
