So, I started a new job in November. Everyone there knows that I'm vegan.
The other day I was having a conversation with a psuedo vegetarian (she eats meat sometimes  ) and another co-worker about animal testing. Anyway, the subject got pretty broad and I was saying that I don't use make-up that has been tested on or contains animals, I don't wear leather, wool, etc. and guess what...I got the "what about your shoes" line.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. After hearing about all the crap that they will throw, I should have been prepared. It was almost funny since I had heard over the last few years that people would throw that out. It's interesting that every once in a while, I get a comment that I've heard so many of you comment on.

It always gives you a good chance to show them how good the shoes look. I am not asked this question very often but one of my responses is: 'Yes, aren't they nice, and no animal had to suffer?'

No, she's not old....maybe 28 or so. I think the way she actually phrased it was "except for your shoes, right"? Like "Ah ha, I got her on this one".
The good news is that another of my coworkers got the "Vegetarian Meat & Potatoes Cookbook" the other day and has since made some meals from it.

Its sad that some people's immediate response is to try to catch you out for something. But, at least you got to educate her about shoes! :yea:

I'm sure it's been quite an eduation for most of the people that I work with.
The one woman who bought the cookbook is allergic to alot of foods, meat and dairy included. She's been very interested in veganism and we even went out to a vegan restaurant together. We're going there again in a few weeks with another woman (the so-called vegetarian).
