I've been making my own lattes for a few days, by just brewing coffee (okay, i have an espresso maker but no espresso beans right now), heating up a mixture of soy/rice milk, and then briefly pulsing those and vanilla extract and cinnamon to make it frothy. i think it's because i want a few calories in the morning but not many and for some reason, drinking warm things makes me happy and relaxed (which, as vegantwins can attest to, i have had a very bad few weeks!).

Today it made it with soy nog and just added a pinch of cinnamon. So good!

I used to make smoothies as well and if I don't drink something in the morning, i usually have an apple or banana.

i have also made mochas, but that's a bit too sweet for me and would probably make me shaky.

i do drink tea a lot but sometimes get tired of it, plus a latte provides some soy or rice milk (or almond or whatever) and therefore calories and nutrients. i never drink decaffeinated things (that I know of), because it's my understanding that chemicals are used to remove the caffeine?! so i figure having some caffeine is better than consuming chemicals.

i use fair-trade, organic coffees.

i've also made some delicious hot chocolates with stevia, so no added sugar, but then i ended up putting soyatoo all over it!

so, anyway, what are your favorite hot drinks?

Those coffees sound nice. On the rare occasions when I have coffee it is instant from a jar. Tea is my most favouritist hot drink. There's nothing like a nice cuppa. And you can put soya milk in. Cocoa is nice, too. I sometimes have it without any sugar but usually put in a half teaspoon.

I like the sound of that latte, will have to try if we ever get together for our meetup, cherie :D. I'm a tea person too, organic-fair trade, loose-leaf tea with a tiny splash of unsweetened soymilk. I also like organic honeybush tea and I have a nice orange loose-leaf tea that I drink. Chamomile is one of my favorites as well.

In really cold weather, I do like to heat up chocolate almond milk. It taste so good hot! :yum:

Maybe I should try putting soy-rice milk in my tea!

I've been enjoying a cup of unsweetened almond milk, warmed up with a bit of ginger, lots of cinnamon, and some vanilla flavored stevia added. Its very nice to drink on a cold evening.

I love hot drinks. I don't have an espresso maker as I'm not big on coffee. I usually do it the old fashioned way, heat up the contents of my desire in a saucepan. I like tea lattes, whereas I use soymilk instead of water and then just put the teabag in the hot soymilk. I've also been using Vitasoy's "Winter Warmth drink a lot this season and topping it with Soyatoo. BTW, does anyone know what to do when the propellant runs out but you still have soy cream left in the can?

That reminds me, are steamers sold separately, like the steamers that come with espresso makers minus the actual espresso maker?

I think steamers ARE sold separately, but they are expensive. You should just pulse it in your blender for frothiness (PULSE ONLY - do not hold down the button!!!)

Write to Soyatoo and get another free one, since you didn't get all of the stuff out of it. I think it would be dangerous to tamper with the can.

What's Vitasoy's Winter Warmth drink? I just tried their Soy Nog for the first time last month and love it.

Winter Warmth is their peppermint/chocolate soymilk. :dribble:

It should be right next to their Holly Nog.
