Actually this digital creation is one of mine. It is a house

://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j132/FuzzyMartin/House.jpg

And here is one by Fuzzy. It is a view looking towards the Hindu Kush from his base in Afghanistan.

Which is the best? I think mine is. It has a raw power that really sends you.

Mine is better. Nice and bright and cheerful.

Don't let Fuzzy hear you say that!

Very good anyway.

Its hard to compare two strikingly different styles. Yours has a Primitive vitality, Martin, while Fuzzy's is much more Impressionistic.

Primitive!? Who are you calling primative? I'm house trained and have a bath every month.

I'm not scared of Fuzzy. He can't paint for toffee. There. That shows how unafraid I am. And he's far away in Afghanistan.

They are both fantabulous but Fuzzy's has the edge over yours, Gliondrach. ;) :D

Fuzzy's is better, of course, not by much but definitely better. :agree:

I finally got to see the show, I couldn't access the artwork from work. Sorry, Gliondrach, Fuzzy's work is much better. Yours does have a raw quality-it appears to represent the industrialization of the countryside since the fireplace chimneys look more industrial than homey. Good job overall. :agree:

I don't know Glion...I think Fuzzy's trying to tell you something..

:D Wait till I see him!

Well, I still think mine is the best. I read that all great artists have a mule to inspire them so I bought one. He didn't inspire me. I must have inspired him, though, because he lives in Paris now and earns a fortune painting portraits of tourists.

When you edit something you can't add any smilies. Nor change the size or colour of the text. I was going to add some more smilies because the one I put there doesn't express how funny I found KKP's contribution. So, here are a few more:
:D :D :D :D :D :D

:D :D :D :D :D :D    Yes, you can if you choose "Go Advanced". A regular posting window will open, and all the smilies will appear in the box as usual. Or, if you know what to type to yield a smilie, you can do that too. Like : D, without the space between the : and the D, will give a :D when the post is submitted. You can also change fonts, colors, or sizes by typing
(but don't leave any spaces between "font" and "font name") leaving the words you want to change here, then typing
at the end of the line.
Substituting the words "size" or "color" for font, and adding a number to the other side of the = for the size, or the name of a color, like "red", will change the words within the bracketted commands.

Thanks, Faux. I don't fully understand everything but I will give it a bash the next time. I am not the most skilled with these computer machine things. I am highly skilled and talented in just about everything else in life, though. As can be seen in my painting of the house.

How about other people creating something of beauty here like what I done? Fuzzy won't mind.

Ok. Here is a digital remake of my very first canvas, painted in acrylic paint when I was six years old. The original is in storage somewhere, but I can see it clearly still in my mind's eye.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y31/lauralb/MyFarmhouse.jpg

Its of a red farmhouse at sunrise, with a haystack and a pine tree. That's to prevent any strange and embarrassing interpretations, or guesses as to the subject matter. My dad had only just taught me to draw in perspective, and I remember the angles of the building being a little off. :gum: :painting:

Oracl

That's very impressive, Fauxmage. :agree: But perhaps we need to have something by Bowwowmeow, or even Seymour, to compare with it before we can really judge the quality? ;) :D

In a very different style, this is another digital reproduction of a painting I did, in acrylic on canvas, when I was around 8 or 9. My Dad was teaching me blending, shading, and highlighting. Which is a damn sight easier to do with a real paintbrush!

This is the full moon, with a bunch of foliage silhouetted in the foreground. In case anyone couldn't tell.

Not bad, Faux, Bow, Sey, not bad at all. Perspective? What's that. We primitivers don't bother with arty nonsense like that.

What do you have to decide? This is no longer open to amateur judges. Rolf Harris and Alwyn Crawshaw have agreed to be the judges of the first Vegan Artists' Golden Chalice competition. The first prize is a new paint brush. Second prize is an original piece of artwork by Damien Hirst which, because he knows we are vegans, will be a carrot pickled in balsamic vinegar. Third prize is an adventure weekend of camping, rock climbing and survival skills led by Fuzzy in the wilds of Dartmoor.

C'mon, Oracl. I wrote a poem, so now you have to draw a picture. How about a portrait of Mr Cal, done in the style of Magritte? ;)

That is excellent for an 6-year old, Faux. You definitely were born with a gilded paintbrush in your hand. :yea:

Yes, it's very good. But I originally drew mine when I was aged 6 months.

This is Fuzzy's latest. He started a sunrise - or is it a sunset - at sea but has never seen one and didn't know what the sun path in the water would look like. Then he noticed Pat Sommers' avatart and used that for inspiration. The sun path is still not to his liking but he became bored and said that he wasn't going to spend any more time on it. Do any of you know how to get a good sun path? It is not easy using a mouse cursor to do these things.

But it is not as good as my house picture.
