Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with this young man.
Jonas Ridgeway (http://www.jonasridgeway.com/)
He's a very outspoken vegan but his main thing is teaching people
the techniques of Astrial Travel/out of body experiences....
He used to have a really lively, active forum but he shut it down last summer because he got upset at too many fights between omni's & vegans.
He now has a new web page.....no forum, but still interesting if you're
into Astral Travel & Dreams & things like that.

No, I wasn't familiar with Jonas Ridgeway, Keykeypie. Thanks for linking. That's a lovely homepage he has. I've got the music playing right now. I don't want to turn it off!
I am pretty sure I used to astral travel when I was little, but I haven't done it in a long time. My Pa used to do it too.

The website is interesting. The music is nice, I can't seem to turn it off either Fauxmage. :)
I looked at the survey and it asked for people to take the survey who have had the experience while awake. I have only had a few out of body experiences when asleep, so I didn't take the survey.
I've had several dream experiences which were all quite nice. I leave my body, I can see it as I leave. I have gone to beautiful fields with tall flowers and it's always night out and I always fly. Since I was a kid I've wanted the ability to fly so this may be a factor. The several sleep experiences I've had have all involved flying, trees, flowers and once I even flew into the universe around planets. In a couple of the dream experiences it's hard to get off the ground but eventually I do and I fly like the wind. I flew to a cave once and there was an old woman in it who served me tea and we talked. She told some secrets of flying to make it easier to get off the ground. She flew with me for a bit and then went back to her cave. I went back to my body and lingered above before I entered watching myself sleep. Part of me didn't want to return to my body, rather I wanted to go back to the cave with the old woman.
My uncle says he had an out of body experience while awake when he was young. I've never heard anyone else close to me say they've had the experience when awake. I wonder if these experiences the guy claims to have are related to self hypnosis of sorts? It sounds relaxing.
edit: I just read a bit more detail on his site. I was thrown when he mentioned in the survey that he wanted people to take it if they've had the experience while awake. I looked at the survey and at more of what he experiences and it appears to happen when he is asleep. I still don't quite understand what he means by being 'awake'. Does he mean that he is alert and able to control the experiences? In my experiences I've controlled my flying and gone to fields which is where I wanted to go in my dream. Yet, I didn't intentionally go to the old lady in the cave or into the universe. This is starting to sound like a twilight zone episode: "Old Man in a Cave".....I have that one recorded.
On the survey, one of the questions is 'have you experienced sleep paralysis-being awake but not being able to move your body'
I have had that many times, not associated with any dream obe's. I think it's something to do with the autonomic system not being fully functional before you are conscious??

WOW Maddie! You've really had some facinating experiences!
Oh how I wish his old web page was still there....there was just tons
of information and a great forum where people shared their experiences &
their progress & problems, successes etc.
But you know what.....the damm omni's had to go and ruin it. You know
how they get,......all uptight & threatened by vegans.....even though the vegans were out numbered.
One day there was a big fight on the boards:biff: .....and Joanas just took
down the whole page......he had asked the omni's to respect his feelings for animals, but no....they had to go & shoot off their big mouths once too often.
In fact....this has prompted me to change my signature:professor:

The only hard part of being vegan.....Dealing with omni guilt
Good one, keykey! I can definately relate. It's taxing hearing the same old excuses to eat animals. I usually just stare at them in disbelief when they try to envoke God into their reasoning. When their mouth stops moving, I usually tune back into what they are saying and just refer them to jesusveg.com
I watched a bit on PBS last night about green evangelicals. These evangelicals are concerned about the environment and planting trees and such, which is commendable. Yet, they don't seem to mind eating animals, nor or they aware of the ecological damage from 'farming' animals. I hope one of them have an epiphany and convert their brethren to veganism.
How about you, have you had any of these experiences? What is the 'awake' bit he is talking about?

Just a few when I was younger but I never got outside....so nothing
very interesting.
I think what he means by awake is you can say to yourself....I'm
out of my body and completely aware of what's going on around me....?
Not really sure......sounds like you're WAY WAY ahead of me on this :angelic: but I'd still like to learn

Well, whatever he means I'm sure I was asleep and dreaming. Still, his claim to leave when he wills is interesting.
