Interview with Donald Watson, the founder and patron of The Vegan Society. Bit of a lengthy article, but throughly worth the read. Is so sad he died last year, but what an age........ was it 95 or 96?
Obviously attributed to veganism.

I love this part:
I married a Welsh girl, who taught me a Welsh saying, "When everyone runs, stand still", and I seem to have been doing that ever since. That's always been my MO, to stand still when everyone else is running. I never knew it was a Welsh saying. Those Welsh are clever. :agree: ;)
Thanks Tigger! :psing:
thanks tigger, very good.

If I was into gurus and such, Donald Watson would be mine. He seemed like a lovely and idealistic man, who lived a quiet life totally commited to his cause. I got the impression that he was not the loud and agressive type of activist, but he sure got the vegan message across... all over the world!

Roger Yates has posted in his blog (Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007) about Donald Watson. He refers to the first issue of The Vegan News, written in November 1944, which is now scanned and online. His blog entry is interesting, as is the first issue of the magazine. :)
