I almost was.

But it clashes with a mate's wedding.

Next year for definite. And if totally naked is allowed, I'm up for that. :wigglebutt:

i hate stuff like this. i feel very strongly that this (or any) issue can be adressed without exploiting anyone. Are there going to be any overweight women running nude? How about elderly women? Or is it just going to be women who look like the ones they are advertising on the website. Sending the message that running with bulls is wrong is awesome. i totally agree. But must we also send the message that a woman's best asset is her body and that a body must look like the thin tan perky breasted woman on their website in order to be listened to or to draw attention to a cause. I am really not trying to be rude. I just really hate all that stuff...

I've never seen the Running of the Nudes, veghed, but I have seen lots of pictures of naked protests, and the women do come in all shapes and sizes, and ages. They aren't as hyped and advertised, though.

Hopefully people will focus on the need to stop mistreating bulls, rather than the relative degrees of attractiveness of the people running. And I have heard that you don't need to be completely naked to participate, either. In fact, I believe the city it will take place in has a law preventing total nudity during the event. But I do understand how you feel about the way the media makes people think the only acceptable naked female image is a thin, young, tan one with perky breasts.

Yes BWM, the town did pass a law saying you couldn't be totally nude. If you've heard of the UK comedian Richard Herring, he did it one year and they more or less passed the law the day before!

But I think its an oft made criticism of PETA that they use 'sexy' women with few clothes a lot in their campaigns. Their defence is that it gets them noticed I suppose but it makes me feel a little uncomfortable too.

That said, going naked is a centuries old form of protest. If you're brave enough...
