I will keep this as short as possible, because I seem to have lost the ability to insert paragraph breaks in my posts, and I hate posting walls of text. Anyone else having this trouble? I can't tell if it is me, or the forum. Thanks.

Well I went to post the same thing at another forum using vBulletin, and had no trouble, so it is either this forum, or some way that my browser interfaces with this forum, but not any others.

Can you use html in postings? If so, you could put a <p> and </p> to make the paragraphs until the problem is sorted out.

Yes, I may have to if this doesn't sort itself out. I just re-installed my browser, and it didn't help.

I remember this happening once before, when I used to post at Vegan Freaks. I had to use HTML tags.

I can't click on smilies either. I either have to copy and paste, which ends up showing as HTML code, or type in the text for the smilies. This is very frustrating!

I wish I could remember exactly what i did to solve it when it happened the first time, but it was years ago.

Sheesh, the forum just changed the < p >s to < br / >s, without the spaces of course.

They are doing the trick though. But what a pain!

Have you tried a system restore?

No I haven't. I am actually thinking of starting over completely with a new operating system.

Linux?

I was thinking about Linux, in case I can't find my Windows disk, and do a reinstall. I don't know much about it though, or whether people who use it are happy with it.

Oh wow, well it sounds like it's more than what I posted in the argh thread. :(

I'm not having that problem and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Sorry.

As for Linux, there are a few different versions of it. I've heard people talk about Ubuntu and another I can't remember (as in they like those Linux OS's). I keep meaning to dual boot this machine (I still need some programs that run in Windows and haven't gotten around to trying out some Linux machines and some emulators on Linux). You might be able to dual boot your machine so you can try out Linux. Then even copy over all your important files and eventually reformat the partition with Windows (I assume you're using Windows now). Most Linux OS's will partition your current system, although you'll probably still want to make a backup of important files, just in case.

I rebooted my computer and this seems to have fixed it. Very mysterious problem though.
