I got some Pacifica (http://www.pacificacandles.com/body-mediterranean-fig.asp) Body Butter today. It says "vegan" on the box; no animal testing or ingredients. There are lots of nice scents. Mine is "Mediterranean Fig", which is scented with "an earthy and green combination of palm, cyclamen, sweet fig, moss, and clove set in a base of woody sandalwood. The edge of the earth meets the sea in this sensual and full-bodied blend. The fig symbolizes the continuous flow of time and offers a wish for long life."
Wouldn't it be fun to make a living writing stuff like this? :D

I'm glad you liked my copy. I am the chief copywriter for that company.
That was the final version. My first attempt was:
This perfume is nice. It smells of lots of things and will leave you thinking about the sea. And the earth. That's because it smells like them.

They have a new smell out now, called "Lotus Garden". They make colognes and solid perfumes to go with their body butters, and candles too. I am such a sucker for good smells! I wish they would make shampoos and conditioners.
Lotus Garden is a "meditative and narcotic blend of frangipani, lotus blossom, jasmine, olibanum, oakmoss, and sandalwood, with radiant citrus top notes." :p
All their stuff is vegan. :colors:

When I am feeling a little blue it does seem to cheer me up to get a new body butter from Pacifica. And no, I do not work for the company or own any stock! I just got a new one called Bali Lime Papaya. It says "the sumptuous, fleshy papaya - with its sweet, musky floral aroma and a flavor reminiscent of a cantaloupe - symbolizes the beauty of womanhood as well as desire".
Don't know about that. :bhead:
But "The sparkling notes of precious Indonesian kaffir lime, a symbol of prosperity and a main ingredient in Balinese cooking, mingle with lime blossom in this complex and lush blend." means this stuff smells really good! The first whiff lifted my spirits almost immediately. :)

Smells go straight to the brain. You could make your own out of shea butter, a vegetable/nut oil and essential oils.
You could start a line called Fauxscents. Or Vegan Vibes. Or Saucy Scents.

I do have a couple of books on making cosmetics at home, and it wouldn't be hard to veganize the recipes.
The essential oils are very pricey though, as are some of the gums and things used to make emulsions. But it does sound like lots of fun. :agree:

Some essential oils are expensive but you only need to use a few drops and they last a long time.
I like patchouli.
