I'm looking at their multivitamins, since my supply of gummy bear vegamins is almost depleted (thank goodness). I just wonder about taking 100% of vitamin D's recommended dose in the summer months. :sun:

People are so much more likely to be deficient in Vitamin D its probably not an issue unless they spend long hours in the sun, naked, when the UV index is high.

The only way to be sure is to have your blood levels tested, and watch the levels in your supplements and fortified foods.

Yeah, I'll just go with that for a couple of years and then maybe find out what a test reveals about my lifestyle. Thanks, you saucy vegan! :highfive:

Vitamin D is made by enough sunlight on the skin.

There is less natural light during the winter months, so it makes more sense to supplement in the winter months.
In the summer you should do fine with some sunlight on parts of the body for a while.

Vitamin D is important, and that's why it's added to some margerines.
Vitamin D as a supplement, or in food can often be based on wool fat. That variety is known as D3. (cholecalciferol)
The animal free variety of vitamin D is D2 (ergocalciferol)
