I saw this photo on a blog, that cat weighs 33lbs and lives in China. What a cutey! She sleeps with her own blanket at night, tucked in by her human. :)

hmm....... ears a bit flat....
she has a look to her as if she's thinking about who or when to strike with her paws :D

Did you notice where her human's left hand is? I know he probably needed to support her with both hands but I don't think kitties appreciate a hand on their ass. :wigglebutt:

Aww, lovely cat, she's so sweet, but is she naturally that size, or what has her owner been feeding her, bless her?!:)

Poor sweet kitty. She looks exactly like one of my customers, a kitty named Carpaccio. I love to hug him, but it makes me sad, too, because it isn't good for him to be so big. His owners say he has been to the vet and has no problem, and he doesn't eat tremendous volumes of food (I know becasue I feed him when they travel), so I think there must be something wrong with his system that the vets aren't finding. He was a normal kitten, but now I think he might even be bigger than this kitty. He is so sweet and affectionate, and does love to be hugged, but I have never tried to pick him up!

Wow, that cat looks as if she would have trouble walking! What a shame she has become so big. :sigh: The guy looks very fond of her. :)

He does look fond of her, but there was a programme recently in the UK about fat pets. I didn't watch it because it would have p*ssed me off immensely.
IMO if you love an animal, then you don't let it get that fat. If it's fat for medical reasons then you deal with it. IMO, again, not cute, looks disgusting and I feel really sorry for the cat.
I have 4 indoor cats and they are so fit. I see outdoor cats fatter than mine and my lot eat like horses, but we play like mad :D
They play, we play, Hell I even play alone to encourage them.
No excuse for letting your pet become obese unless it's medical

Looking at that cat I assumed it was medical! :rubchin: I couldn't imagine any cat getting that big otherwise, cats are not as greedy as dogs. :eat: But if the guy has just fed her until she nearly bursts then he probably shouldn't be allowed to have a cat in his care! :rollingpin:

It's not 'cute' - it's obscene.

It's not 'cute' - it's obscene. I think the cat herself is 'cute'. :) It's not her fault that she is so obscenely big. :(

My thoughts exactly. She didn't ask to be fat and overweight beings can be cute! :agree:

I agree. It is hard to feel the mixture of sadness for the state of such an animal, and the love for the undeniable cuteness at the same time. Pregnant mamas of any species are adorable to me, and it is the size and shape that I find so cute, but of course the reason for this is much more acceptable than simply being overweight. I would be much happier if the kitty were not so large, but she is still cute no matter what her size. It isn't easy to completely eliminate feline beauty in my eyes. We had an old black tomcat who got hit by a car and lost his eye, but he was still beautiful til the day he died. :(

Uh oh, I found another one, poor cat, but what a sweetie.
Leo is the world's biggest cat. He holds the 2006 Guinness World Record for the longest cat. Frieda Ireland's pet Leo, is 100% CFA purebred domestic cat with a CFA predigree. The people of Chicago, Illinois can be proud to call the world's biggest cat their own. Leo is the biggest and largest Maine Coon Cat, he is 48 inches tall from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail and weighs 35 pounds. He is the same size of an 8 year old child and his paw fits into a size 2 child's shoe. If Leo was human, according to the Guinness's scale, he would stretch over 8 feet tall and weigh 220 pounds. Frieda says,"We have to keep an eye on him when we are cooking, because he can stand up and put his paws on the counter." Leo's length, not his weight, makes him a record holder. Guiness claims it does not encourage people to fatten up their pets.
Here's a piccie of Leo at the vet:

Maine coons are big cats anyway, thank goodness for Leo, so don't have to be as overweight to break size records! I wonder why they are photographing these big kitties while holdiong them so awkwardly.

I wonder that too, I know Felíne would hate being held like that. She hates being held anyway but certainly not with her hind legs hanging down. Maybe the men aren't strong enough to hold the cats any other way. :p

He has got his bum on it's backside though.
One of mine lets me carry her around like a baby, but I make sure I always have a hand under the bum so as not to strain/damage them.
I love Maine Coons, although disagree with breeding, but they are beautiful big cats.
