Im sorry to say that Crunchie has gone in her sleep last night:(

I found her this morning peacfully in a nest of hay, she was fine last night eating her cucumber and treats but had gone this morning

Crunchie would of been about 5 at the beginning of Feb, not sure of exact age as she was a rescue.

Ahhh... Bless her poor little heart. I'm glad she died peacefully. I had a coupld of piggies go like that, suddenly but peacefully. Poor Crunchie. Love to you al and your other piggies and pets. x

Bless little Crunchie.

A good way to go - in her sleep and in a place where she knew love. She was lucky you rescued her.

:bmoon: I am so sorry to read this.
What a sweet little innocent face. :colors: I know you will miss her alison, but she was so lucky to have your love and care, and to pass so peacefully. Only time will heal the pain of your loss, but meanwhile think of the happiness you brought her, and that she brought you. :comfort:

Thanks everyone not been the best of weeks with Crunchie going but am thinking of all the positive things and the good life she had here.

I hate seeing the empty hutch and will be keeping it in case I hear of a guinea or 2 in need in a rescue - which Im sure I will. That would not be until after my Easter holiday now.

How sad. She was so adorable. We have four guinea pigs, so I know how attached you can be to your piggy. We lost Janneke in January 2006 and Jula in July 2008. Janneke's place was taken over by Josa and Jula, Jula's by Jaira. And rabbit Jasper came in rabbit Jip's place. He has adopted us as his family group. I know how sad you can be after losing your beloved pet. :comfort:

I am sorry to hear this about your loss xxx

As a child we had lots of girl guinea pigs running around our walled cottage garden and they had such a fantastic life roaming free but safe and being tucked up at night in their warm cosy houses....and I had a boy guinea pig called Tom which I loved with all of my heart and was devastated when he died....and now we have two guinea pigs called Annie and Skye which my eldest son loves and looks after with me :) But I know how hard it is to lose them and I know when our guinea pig friends go that my son will feel the same devastation sadly :(
