I got rid of all the old keywords, and I've only put back a few. We can have up to twenty without affecting our rating with the search engines, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some words or phrases that would best reflect the material on our pages, and that you think people would be most likely to use in their search engines when looking for vegan info.

Whenever I've used a search engine looking for vegan info, I tried: just 'vegan' or 'vegan+forum' & 'vegan+food'.
Have you put in 'animals' as a keyword?
Sorry, that's all I can think of right now.

I'm not sure what you have already, but what about: 'ethical living', 'non-violence', 'compassion for all living beings'? :rubchin:

Use the same ones as the bigger forums.
According to Overture, only 40 searches were done for 'vegan forum' in January 2007. But 1,491 for 'veganism'. 102 for 'going vegan'. And 495 for 'raw vegan'.
It is supposed to return results for the previous month but all these were for January.

put h tt p: // in front.

Thanks everyone!
And thanks for looking that info up, Gliondrach. We do have a raw section, so raw vegan or raw veganism ought to reflect some of our content well. I did used to have keywords copied from other forums, but they didn't match our pages, according to the first bit of research you did.

BWM, do you think we have enough discussion on spiritual issues to do as TVT suggested and throw in the word "spiritual" or "spirituality" or something along those lines? :rubchin:
I consider that my spiritual beliefs and my vegan lifestyle are very strongly connected.
I just tried a search for "spirituality+veganism" and got 1,820,000 matches! :faint:

There are now 100 search results in Good Search for 'thenakedvegan.net'. A few weeks ago it was about 19. Then it gradually dropped to 4. Yesterday it was 84.
Ten pages are listed - 10 results for each page. But only 8 show anything. And the last one only has 4 pages on it. So, there are actually 84 results. Still a lot better than it used to be.
I'm not sure how they decide on the number of pages to list but the more the merrier.

I can do that, but I'm not sure it will make a difference, since our Spirituality forum is off limits to the public, and isn't supposed to get searched.
