Have you been to this Delicious? Is it worth buying a ticket to hear speakers and attend the vegan banquet? I'm thinking I might like to check this out. I don't get to travel often, but September is a quiet month pet-sitting wise.

I heard Milton Mills speak at an EarthSave festival in NYC last year, he was very interesting. Several of the other speakers are excellent. I bet it's going to be a very interesting expo.

I *did* go and while I found the organizers to be unorganized and sometimes tackily annoying and pushing personal agendas, the main speakers gave valuable information (most of which you can get from thier books or papers) and so it may be more worth the investment to simply buy the speakers' books! :o This year, however, John Robbins will be there and he is always very inspiring to me :) I want to be on the panel of Chefs, naturally, but I don't have a big name (yet) like Alex, Morgan Spurlock's girlfriend or Mary McDougal (the good doctor's wife) or Tanya from Native Foods (who was my favorite, not just 'cause she's so cool but because she followed proper sanitary procedure, had her hair back, used separtate spoons for tasting and didn't double-dip and never touched her face or hair while cooking).
Don't be fooled by the word "banquet" in what is included in the ticket price on the one night...last year, it was a TINY portion of flavorless ravioli with nothing saucy to zip it up and a sad small bowl of bland yet over peppered soup and it was not worth eating even :( The Giant could have easily eaten 6 "servings" and I bemoaned the fact that there wasn't even a simple salad served with it. That being said, the speakers offer up great info and it's nice to be with a few hundred vegans or those interested in veg*nism.
