Very nice!:) But it's hidden. How often do you show it/do you have any vegan ones that show? I haven't gotton any yet.:(

Nah I dont have any on show, I am considering getting something bigger on the 10 year anniversary or something maybe :)

I like the placement because everything that goes in me mouth is vegan :D

That's the first tattoo I've ever seen in that particular place Susie! I had no idea a person could get one there.

I don't have any. I'm way too scared of the pain. It may not be that bad, as I deal with uninvited pain quite well. But my imagination is very powerful. :o

I have one tattoo on my back but it has nothing to do with being vegan. I got it about four years ago when I was still an omni. I've wanted to get a new tat to represent my veganism for the last few years but just can't figure out what and where. It definitely has to be an AR tattoo tho.
I'm back in an office work environment now so that hampers my choices.

Wow and ouch, that's an amazing place to have a tattoo! :)

:speechless: That's incredible, Susie. Did it hurt ... alot?

soozthecat
06-22-2007, 08:00 AM
Haha that one didnt hurt at all! It was done by a (vegan) tattooist who does the tattoos by hand, using a special needle, as opposed to a gun, so each dot is individually made, its more obvious on his normal stuff: here. (http://www.templetatu.com/art-adam.html)

Ive found the inside of your mouth is pretty pain free though, getting my lips pierced didnt really hurt (and one was seriously messed up and bled everywhere) and the piercings in my tongue didnt hurt either!

You're a braver woman than I am! :) And that tattooist does beautiful work. :agree:

That's an interesting tatto, Susie. I'm too much of a :bhead: to get one.

Very nice

I also want to get one but something like a vegan symbol rather then the word vegan it self

I find if you have a vegan symbol rather then just the word vegan people might ask more questions and then it gives you a chance to highlight why you are vegan

So if anyone knows any vegan symbols please share

I don’t know of any vegan tattoos shops so will just have to get it done from where I can

Most modern american ink is vegan now, and a good shop will order it in for you. My friend has the vegan society logo on her wrist. Ive seen a lot of nice ones with veg etc in ;)

The best known vegan symbol is the logo of the vegan society in the U.K

Once again, I am seriously considering getting a tattoo. (It has been an on / off obsession since I was sixteen y/o and got chased out of a tattoo parlor by the tattoo artist who looked like one of the Hells Angels!) :speechless:

So now the two big questions are what design and where on the body? I saw a beautiful design of a wolf howling at the moon – but that would cover half my back. I like the idea of a tribal design :nat: or perhaps something Celtic, or maybe a vegan design, if there is such a thing.

As for location, somewhere on my back seemed like a good idea – from the point of view that the skin there is never exposed to the sun so the tattoo would look good for longer – but then I found out that tattoos on the lower back are commonly referred to as a ‘tramp stamp’. (And some creep already commented that my name has “kinky, sexual overtones” so I don’t want to add a kinky tattoo to the mix!) Then I figured that a place where my musculature will not change significantly over time – such as wrist or ankle – would be a better option.

Any thoughts? Opinions? Advice? :ears:

I have a "Tramp Stamp". :psing: I got it long before it was called that but now it's almost embarrassing.
I also have been wanting a vegan tat for a couple of years. I really like the tribal band idea but somehow related to AR.
I've asked my kids (who are both artists) to draw something up for me but neither of them have done it yet. I'll hound them about it again.
The coolest vegan tatoo I've seen was the word "Liberation" in all caps going down a mans spine.

I would never have a tattoo. The only people who should have tattoos are pirates.

Keep the first one small and hidden when clothed! :wigglebutt:  ;) That way, if you change your mind about tattoos, you won't be embarrassed by it! If you end up loving the idea of tatts, then go for the full sleeve or whatever!

I have been tempted to get one, but only a tiny, very discreet one to start with. :o Possibly a scorpion or a dragon. :)

Fairly recently, a tattoo artist commented to me that I have beautiful skin. Must be a vegan thing! :agree: But I have wondered since if he just wanted to see if he could talk me out of my shirt. :o Probably not - he had a very professional attitude. The biggest hurdle would / will be that I am terribly ticklish all over ...

Sorry about the "Tramp Stamp" comment my3labs. :sorry: :o

Do you have a photo (or link) to the LIBERATION tat by any chance?

:D I have considered the dragon possibility, too. But I haven't found the perfect design...

Aye, matey, ye ne'er said a truer word.
Though I be a pirate, and Cap'n of me own ship, not havin' a tattoo makes me stand out amongst me peers.

Instead o' standin' on piers you should be a standin' on the bridge o' yer vessel. Aarrrh.

I want to get a Vegan tattoo..

Not sure where - it has to be hidden by a suit...but otherwise I am cool.

The upper arm is obvious ...anywhere else you could suggest?

I would like one with a Vegan in it and maybe some fire..however maybe low key is good too.

There is a bamboo tattoo parlour close to me..

Don't let them use bamboo. Insist on proper needles.

You can't go wrong with a little puppy design. Or the white rose of York.

They design the artwork themselves... I will go later..

The ancient art of Bamboo Tattoo has finally arrived in the UK.

Keng, a Thai Master in the art of Bamboo Tattoo, is proud to announce the opening of his new studio The Bamboo Rooms.

We believe at this moment he is the only qualified Bamboo Tattoo Artist working in the UK.

With major Hollywood superstars such as Angelina Jolie endorsing this method of tattooing, it is set to become the latest trend.

Add the that the fact there is usually no blood and it is almost pain free means it is surely set to become the fastest growing method of tattooing.

I didn't know they could use bamboo. I heard a radio programme the other day in which quite a few people said they regret having a tattoo.

I will probably wait until next year, but if it looks great, covers up well - then should be fine!
