Database Error Pages

Hi everyone! We've been having lots of problems with the database, and since I have been getting lots of database error pages, I'm assuming you guys are too. I let tech support know yesterday, and they said they fixed it, but its still happening, so I have let them know again this morning (my time). I'm hoping they'll get to the bottom of it soon, because I need to upgrade the software, and I don't want database errors occurring during this process.

I'll do my best to keep you all updated. :o

I had white pages a few times in my evening. :(

So that's in the two hours before I made this post.

The forum was very slow about 45 minutes ago - at 10.30 PM.

Tech Support either can't or won't try to figure out why it happens to some of us sometimes if they attempt to access the forum themselves and encounter no problems. :bhead: :confused:

Sometimes its the database, and other times its a problem with the browser you use.

Pages load slow, or give a blank page.

The blank page makes me think there could be server errors, but your error pages don't have text on it?

It was very slow for me yesterday. I logged off for half an hour and then came back. It has been slow just now, as well.

Same here, I couldn't get on this morning at all. I tried a few times but it just kept loading and nothing would happen.

Hi everyone, I'm having the same problems, and it is a database error. I got 74 automatic emails today alone. Every time anyone gets a blank page, I get an automatic notification. I don't seem to be able to get the web host to understand what the problem is though, since they keep sending me messages saying that they can access the forum just fine, and that I should clear my cache (which I have done, but its made no difference, because its a database problem, not a browser problem!) I've sent them copies of the messages I receive. I hope they can resolve this soon.

I'm also not going to be around much until Sunday, so I can't devote the time it apparently needs to communicate meaningfully with tech support.

You know what's really annoying about this problem is that in spite of how many times I get blank pages, I still find new whammers are able to join. :rolleyes:

When it didn't work, I "pinged" the site, and got a resonable response.
The pages didn't load, I think, because of some database problem or slowness.

Things are definatly better now, if it's still as good tomorrow, then I suggest to sent out a simple email to (all) members to tell the site is working o.k again :)

Couldn't reach the site on sunday, and monday morning... didn't get database errors, but just "connection timed out, server too busy or can not be reached" :(

:laugh: I went to click on this thread but I couldn't at first, I got a Page Can Not Be Displayed error message.

Folks there's something really bizarre going on with the database. I wasn't able to access the site for hours. I finally got it to open, but when I tried to log in as Bowwowmeow, I got another error page. Bowwowmeow's name is showing at the bottom of the page, but I can't see anything but an error page. I had trouble logging in as Fauxmage too, until I cleared all my saved passwords as well as my cache. But when I went to delete the latest whammer, I got an error page in the Admin CP. The latest whammer does not show in the Admin CP, but still shows on the main page. I've also seen some weird post formatting, which I managed to fix.

I do have tech support working on it, but they keep telling me to clear my cache, which is not a good sign, as I have cleared my cache about 5 times this evening. Let me know, if you can, if you notice anything weird. Send me an email if you can't post.

All Hell is breaking loose for me right now. I still can't log in as Bowwowmeow without getting an error page, Earthlink has gone wacko on me, I can't get any of my emails, they want me to pay a past due balance, but when I try, they say my current balance is $0.00, and Firefox just did an automatic update without my consent (like they always do) and I am afraid that might be what's causing a lot of my troubles. The web host tech support sucks, but having to switch servers is a pain in the ass from what I've heard.

I am ready to throw my computer into the Bay.

You must have cleared your cache. ;)

Actually, that's generally good advice. Its just frustrating to be told to do it when you already have. Its like the first question you get asked when anything electronic goes awry. "First, check the power. Is the appliance plugged in?" :hbang: :hbang: :hbang: :bhead:

We are not out of the woods yet folks. I just deleted the accounts of 5 whammers, and got five error messages in the admin cp. What really gets me is that though I can't log in to my own forum half the time, 6 whammers have been able to access the forum and create accounts! :grumble: :grumble: :grumble:

BWM do you wake up with headaches?. Try elevating the mattress head end, that may help. You may be suffering from sleep apnoea?. Worked for me.

I hope its not sleep apnea, Tails. Its hard to tell if you've got it unless there is someone else sleeping with you. I believe it interrupts the dream cycle, though, from the little I've read about it, and I dream like mad all the time.

I overdid the caffeine a few weeks ago, and I think that may have been part of the problem. I haven't had such a lengthy series of them in ages. :(

I suffer from it, i know i snore. Went into hosp, a couple of years ago for a sleep study and thats what I was told . Its creepy and weird to know you have camera's watching you sleep..
